And then Icarus, who escaped captivity soaring on the wings of eagles, instead of thanking the gods for his freedom and the warm sun on his face, believed he had transformed into a god, soared to the heavens to become an equal among them.
Let us take stock of the current world God bequeath us. We are living in a time when our environment is cleaner than at no time prior to the dawn of civilization and individuals and companies are ever working harder to create better safer, and cleaner solutions. Yet we are told by governments that if we do not reduce our carbon footprint through great suffering and self-flagellation, this beautiful world will collapse.
Has there ever been a time in human history better to be an ethic minority? At least in Western countries, laws, expected norms and social pressures have done wonders at assuring that individuals of all races are treated equally and fairly. In a recent viewing of the 2022 British Arrow Awards, a country with only 18% of the population registering as minorities, had about 50% non-white representation in the commercials that were up for awards last year. In the United States, being a racial minority (unless of Asian decent) is not a barrier to higher education, it is a distinct advantage. Yet we are told that our institutions are systemically discriminating against all minorities. This systematic discrimination is so overt that we must invent subtle micro-aggressions to explain it. Racism in the West right now is akin to an apocalyptic virus that is so deadly and an existential threat to humanity that we need to take a test just to know if we have it.
Has there ever been a greater time in the history of the world to be a woman? I acknowledge that many sacrificed in the fight for women’s suffrage and equality over the past 150 years. However, in the 21st century, women hold top spots in all institutions and governments in numbers so large that it would be impossible to list them in any format short of the published “Who’s Who in America.” Women are admitted to and have higher graduation rates in our nation’s colleges and universities than men. Yet we are told that in Western countries, institutions systemically discriminated against women. Based on the number of female leaders in leadership positions throughout this glorious land, one can only conclude that women themselves must be the discriminators of women because the “Man’s World Ship” sailed decades ago.
Are we perfect? Have we eliminated senseless disregard for a clean and healthy environment? Have we eliminated 100% of racism across our lands? Are women truly on equal parity with men regarding all societal norms? No, no, no, and no, humanity is not perfect, nor will it ever be. Ignorance will always be among us. When it comes to idiots arguing for concepts that are demonstrably false, one can only conclude that a greater evil is taking place and the idiot is merely preforming their useful role. However, in these situations, I find best to follow Mark Twain’s advice, “Never argue with an idiot. They will drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.”
I am not claiming we have solved all climate, racism, or female discrimination, but I do profoundly state that our current time is that best any of these three have fared thought all human history. I also do not think we should take our eye off any these, as well as other important human rights. It is the highest law of the United States that it should protect all in life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.
Throughout my lifetime, I witnessed all three of these issues, climate, racism, sexism improve by leaps and bounds. Though important advancements to be sure, these big three were not existential threats the humanity in the eighties, they were not a crisis at the turn of the century, and they most certainly are not an apocalyptical threat to humanity now. If what I say is true, then what is behind the “we must fix <insert grievance de jour> now” frenzy? Why do governments have to solve these issues right now, especial at tremendous cost to freedom and treasure? Moreover, why does the World Economic Forum (WEF) propose ESG standards that must be implemented right now? We are told, in no uncertain terms, by world leaders that our planet will descend to the damnation bow wows if we do not collectively sacrifice our way of life and our children to this proverbial god, Moloch.
The evil our idiots are carrying the water for are the people not trusting in the Grand Creator of the universe – the individuals who, through perverse education, view themselves equal to the Divine. At no other time in history have we had so many world leaders suffering from Icarus Ascending Disorder. Although versions of the Greek mythical figure Icarus very, most tell this story:
Icarus was the son of Daedalus, a cunning Athenian craftsman hired by King Minos of Crete to build his famed elaborate labyrinth. After assisting Theseus to escape the maze of the Minotaur by means on King Minos’ daughter, Ariadni, Daedalus and his son Icarus were imprisoned. The ingenious Daedalus fashioned two sets of wings out of feathers, string, and beeswax. Prior to making their escape, Daedalus warned Icarus to follow his path, flying neither too close to the sun nor the sea. But young Icarus, after given the gift of flight to escape captivity, ignored his father and feeling an equal with the gods, and soared towards the heavens to be among them. Helios, the sun god, took offense to the hubris of young Icarus and focused his rays upon the lad causing the wax to melt and the wings to dissipate. The young and exuberant Icarus fell into the sea to his demise.
The moral of the story is hubris instead of gratitude has deadly consequences. As I write these words, Klaus Schwab and a bevy of world leaders are boarding swanky private jets to Davos, Switzerland for the annual World Economic Forum. In attendance will be no less than 52 head of state and over 300 government ministers. According to Fox Business, the following partial list of “Icaruses” are assembling feathers, string and beeswax for their WEF guided flights to the heavens where they will bump wings with the gods in Schwab’s grand scheme to save humanity from itself:
· Special Presidential Envoy for Climate John Kerry
· Director of National Intelligence Avril Haines
· FBI Director Christopher Wray
· U.S. Agency for International Development Samantha Power
· U.S. Trade Representative Katherine Tai will attend
· Salesforce Chair and Co-CEO Marc Benioff
· Bain & Company Chairman Orit Gadiesh
· JPMorgan Chase CEO Jamie Dimon
· European Central Bank President Christine Lagarde
· International Monetary Fund Managing Director Kristalina Georgieva
· cellist Yo-Yo Ma
· Former U.S. Vice President Al Gore
I truly hope Yo-Yo Ma is on the Davos list as a performer for these insufferable world elites and he is merely there the shake them down for a really big performance check. But, if Bill Gates, the peddler of the world glitchiest software, is an expert on viruses and vaccines, then I guess the world greatest cellist can be an expert on world economics. The only true problem society must solve right now is how to cure world leaders collectively suffering from Icarus Ascending Disorder. We have far too many leaders in governments, industry, academics, and the arts that vision themselves, not just divine interpreters, but divine themselves. These world leaders have not one ounce of gratitude for the beauty of our self-sustaining planet and the One who protects it. This mandem heading towards Davos have nothing but contempt for the freedoms that have delivered a cleaner climate, improved racial relations and greater gender equality. They see freedom as the cancer that must be attacked and eradicated as quickly as possible.
Watch closely the solutions to world problems that comes out of Davos this week. The demigods of the World Economic Forum will have a communist solution for every manufactured problem. Expect this group to double down on business crushing ESG standards and to push for evermore unelected world bodies to control our lives and usurp sovereignties. For those suffering from Icarus Ascending Disorder, nurturing and Paternal advice will always go unheeded as they aspire to summit Mt. Olympus. I have no doubt how their story ends, but it is up to the rest of us to not follow WEF leaders over the cliff. For crashing into the sea is the epic fate of all who, in hubris, fly too close to the sun.
“The only true problem society must solve right now is how to cure world leaders collectively suffering from Icarus Ascending Disorder. We have far too many leaders in governments, industry, academics, and the arts that vision themselves, not just divine interpreters, but divine themselves.”
To which I say a heartfelt Amen!
