2008 was a bad year for our Republic. That was the year Barack Obama was elected the 43rd President of these United States. The Republicans were caught flat footed by the defeat and truly did not know why their message failed to inspire voters. The truth was in '08, conservative principles did not fail our country, the Republican establishment failed to uphold conservative principles. But, out of nowhere, a one-term senator from Illinois shot past Hilary Clinton in the Democrat’s primary and beat a very squishy John McCain in the presidential election. Obama's victory also included control of the House of Representatives and after some deal making and questionable vote counting in Minnesota, the Senate.
It was in that brief period between September 24, 2009 to February 4, 2010 when Democrats enjoyed a filibuster-proof senate that Obama jammed through his signature legislation, the Affordable Care Act. And, as bad as the ACA was, as much as it drove up medical cost and caused medical rationing, that does not begin to tell the story of the destruction President Obama wreaked upon our republic. I remember the flurry with which President Obama made changes. A fat and out of shape GOP establishment could not keep up with the pace as Obama, day after day, flooded the offensive zone with communist inspired political players and policy initiatives.
In 2009, Rush Limbaugh was the lone line of defense during that daily onslaught. The established media, the ones not already in the tank for the first African American President, had no ability to stop the rush. Then, like now, the American people and the media could only handle one or two pearl-clutching topics per news cycle. Every day early in the Obama administration, they came out with so many government changing personnel and policy changes, that the Republicans and the media simply could not keep up. President Obama indeed fulfilled Big Mike's prophecy, "Barack knows that we are going to have to make sacrifices; we are going to have to change our conversation; we’re going to have to change our traditions, our history; we’re going to have to move into a different place as a nation." As a result of the Obama presidency, America did move into a different place, America moved into a far more socialist place.
Here we are sixteen years later, and the roles are reversed. President Trump won reelection and will enjoy Republican majorities in both houses. It was the Democrats that were flabby and out of shape this time around. Their same old class warfare defense could not contain the Trump offense. They / them had no answer for Trumpian gadget plays like working at McDonald's or riding a garbage truck to a campaign rally. Regarding Democrat’s resounding loss in the poles this election cycle, the entire Democratic machine would rather navel gaze instead of taking a good, hard look into the mirror.
Right now, the Democratic party is the Jacksonville Jaguars. Their defense is atrocious. Their policy positions can't stop the run, and their legacy media secondary can't stop the pass. President Trump now needs to take a play from the Obama playbook. He needs to call Trips Right every day and flood the offensive zone with multiple policy and personnel decisions. Because the Democrat's defense is so weak, the Trump offensive coordinator should send the receivers out every single day because they cannot stop the pass.
Simply put, the Republicans are in better shape. After their defeat in 2008 to Barack Obama, they got back in the gym and started working out. They also spent the last decade drafting younger talent to go against the deeply entrenched yet out of touch Democratic establishment. Where Biden's cabinet picks were mostly symbolic diversity hires, Trump's leadership team is equally diverse but are chosen for their youthful as well as idealistic principles. Trump’s team is trained to move the Republican agenda down the field and not just to fulfill a political quota.
Democrats should be worried. Their tired defensive playbook of legacy media talking heads telling aged viewers that "orange man bad," will not cut it anymore. Most Americans under the age of 70 now get their information from different sources. People are turning to long-form podcasts, like Joe Rogan and independent journalistic sites like Substack, for their news. These news mediums are uncurated and unedited by a lockstep democratic controlled media conglomerate. For Democrats to take back control of government and continue their quest to enact their Marxist agenda, they need to kill all the avenues of independent political thought and reestablish their one-party "Pravdaesque" media control. That task just got harder with the Donald Trump reelection. The Democrats now face the uphill task of playing defense in the new medias because they do not have the power to censor it.
Frank Sinatra said, "The best revenge is massive success." Trump will do well to follow the "Chairman's" advice. The democrats hope they can bait Trump into wallowing in the DC Swamp with them over these next four years instead of draining it. If Trump turns his presidency into a revenge crusade of simply tracking down and prosecuting all the individuals that attacked him with lawfare, slander and bullets, his legacy will be that of other self-serving populous leaders. If, as it currently appears, that a Trump administration puts a powerful offense on the field to attack the DC establishment and truly enact lasting change, his legacy with be that of legends, and leaders around the globe will follow. In fact, we are seeing the anti-socialist movement across Europe as the MEGA movement appears positioned to elect a more conservative Chancellor of Germany in the coming months.
The fact that this later scenario is a real possibility, and it upsets the "New World Order" Davos clan, I wish Donald Trump all the success in defeating the cultural Marxism embedded within our governments and I pray God protect him and the United States of America as we go through this purge. There will be much rendering of clothing and gnashing of teeth from established institutions as bloated and inefficient government agencies are revamped or eliminated. Strength and trust in the mission is required for the Trump team to have a lasting effect on our Republic.
What the recent election taught us is that the people and corporate leaders will tolerate progressive policy claptrap, if the twisted wizards behind the curtain can maintain a vibrant economy and keep world peace. What we have also learned is that the people will even tolerate mass immigration and illegal voting if the immigrants don't rape and murder their daughters. But when the left policies can't deliver on those basic requirements, the electorate will kick them to the curb. Don't look for the communists to change their policies. The Fabian inspired DC denizens will simply return to wearing the sheep's clothing while they hammer away at every one of Presidents Trump’s initiatives. To counteract that coordinated demonic defense, Trump’s team needs to flood the offensive zone, every single day and on Sundays too. God speed and full steam ahead!
