Blessings to all this Holy Week.
To the faithful readers of "It Would Be Nice If,"
I am two thirds of the way through my "Almost Paradise" series and am eager to complete the journey. Those who have followed my writing over the past two years on Substack know I live or re-live my life through these pages. If something notable is going on in my beloved restaurant industry, like the proliferation of excessive service charges, I share my thoughts about it like this recent post on Substack.
When I desired a new direction for my personal and professional life and worked with a personal coach last year, I shared that journey with my audience as well. Here is a re-post on that topic titled, Being, Purpose and Destiny.
One of the goals that came from the coaching process was to shed excess obligations so that I could focus on my core position as a CFO of a restaurant group and my writing. One such shedding of excess ballast was to sell the duplex I called my home for the last 15 years.
Well, that looks like is about to happen. In addition to preparing corporate tax returns for eleven entities, I am also in the midst of packing up my house and preparing for closing in two weeks. This is all a long-winded explanation for why I do not have a fresh post this morning.
Rest assured; I will be back on “Almost Paradise” very soon. I am also sure there is a future post about the thought process for selling my home at this particular time that goes well beyond making my personal life less stressful.
I sincerely thank all my readers and supporters for allowing me an audience for my writing. Your participation in this endeavor saves me a fortune in therapy.
Enjoy Holy Week. For those who may still be suffering from addiction, depression or suicidal thoughts, the gift that is Easter signifies a Love and a Forgiveness that is so far beyond Earthly recognition. May you find hope in that Divine promise and protection.
